Abstract

Edge computing enables integrating computationally intensive tasks such as sensing with wireless communications. It also enables bringing AI very close to the user. Our project idea is to use federated learning in a wireless communication system for indoor localisation and analysing user behaviour, in addition to proving the users with connectivity. Having multiple access points and base stations as a distributed network of sensors enable various applications such as indoor navigation, mass surveillance, providing help to vulnerable users, e.g., in large gathering or shopping malls and more importantly crisis management such as we recently witnessed due to pandemic.
