The CHIST-ERA Projects Seminar 2025 will take place in Istanbul, Türkiye on April 8-9, 2025 at Point Hotel Barbaros.

The event brings together researchers involved in the ongoing CHIST-ERA funded projects and representatives of the research funding organisations.

Not only the coordinator, all project project participants including post-docs and students are welcome to join.

Objectives:

  • Remind the broader CHIST-ERA picture, including the follow-up process and objectives;
  • Exchange impressions about funded projects, meet in person and listen to the researchers presenting their projects;
  • Strengthen the scientific communities working in the topics of the CHIST-ERA calls and support effort toward new collaborative and interdisciplinary research.

As a further objective, the seminar contributes to the long-term assessment of CHIST-ERA calls and the shaping of CHIST-ERA in the long-run.

The projects that will be represented at this year's seminar belong to 9 past CHIST-ERA call topics:

  • Call 2021: Nano-Opto-Electro-Mechanical Systems for ICT (NOEMS) & Foundations for Misbehaviour Detection and Mitigation Strategies in Online Social Networks and Media (OSNEM)
  • Call 2022: Security and Privacy in Decentralised and Distributed Systems (SPiDDS) & Machine Learning-based Communication Systems, towards Wireless AI (WAI)
  • Call Open & Re-usable Research Data & Software
  • Call 2023: Multidimensional Geographic Information Systems (MultiGIS) & Smart Contracts for Digital Transformation Ecosystems (SmartC)

Venue

The Project Seminar will take place in Istanbul, Türkiye at Point Hotel Barbaros.

Poster & demo session

Project representatives are encouraged to prepare an interactive demo in relation with their project. The demos will all be presented in the same room and in parallel. Power supply and desks will be available, but delegates need to bring their own hardware (laptops, data storage, etc.).

Projects that are not ready to present a demo can bring a poster (A0, portrait format) instead, which will be displayed in the room where the demo session takes place. A poster accompanying a demo is welcome as well.

Video dissemination

To better promote the activities undertaken by its funded projects and in line with Responsible Research and Innovation actions, the CHIST-ERA consortium has decided to organize a video dissemination on a voluntary basis. The goal of short-videos is to provide a general presentation aimed at the greater public of the research project and its main (planned) achievements.
