31/03/2022 Registration to Conference 2022 is open. You can register here!

In preparation for the Call 2022 of CHIST-ERA, to be open in the fall of 2022, the research funding organisations of CHIST-ERA invite at the CHIST-ERA Conference 2022 interested scientists to participate in the definition of the two topics of the call:

  • Security and Privacy and Decentralised and Distributed Systems (SPiDDS)
  • Machine Learning-based Communication Systems, towards Wireless AI (WAI)

Preliminary topic descriptions have been published here, together with the anticipated list of participating countries. The conference outcomes will be integrated into the topics description to form the scientific text of the call.

The conference is organised in Edinburgh (UK) on May 24-26 by UKRI, the British funding partner of CHIST-ERA. Online participation will also be provided.

The conference programme features a combination of plenary and facilitated break-out sessions, high-level keynote talks by internationally renowned scientists, shorter talks and poster presentations by conference participants to identify and formulate the most promising challenges for the call topics.

The conference participants are invited to contribute to the call definition via three channels:

  • Pre-conference survey on promising research directions for the call;
  • By joining facilitated break-out sessions during the conference;
  • By contributing with a short talk (8-10') and/or by proposing an online poster: Submit your abstract!

This event represents a unique opportunity for the scientific community to directly participate in scoping the content of the calls topics and exchange their views on the future of the domains with their peers.

Important dates
Abstract submission deadline: May 3
Notification of accepted abstracts: May 10
Registration deadline: May 17

The conference is also a networking event that allows potential applicants to set the basis for future collaborations. A specific information session on the rules of participation to CHIST-ERA calls is proposed and applicants are offered the possibility to pitch their project proposal. In the evening of May 24 and 25, all the participants are invited to join a networking event:

  • May 24: Walking tour of Edinburgh's Old Town + dinner
  • May 25: Ghostly Underground walking tour + dinner

Many successful CHIST-ERA proposals have been initiated at a CHIST-ERA conference.
