Expression of Interest
Brno University of Technology - AXE GroupBrno Applied Cryptography and Security Engineering (AXE) Group is a part of the Department of Telecommunications at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication at Brno University of Technology. Our group is mainly interested in research in cryptographic protocol design and privacy-enhancing cryptography. There are three sections in our group devoted to different aspects of cryptology. For more information about our group, please visit our webpage https://axe.vut.cz/.
Privacy-Enhancing Technologies
We deal with the design of new authentication schemes with privacy-enhancing features. The research includes design, formal verification, and implementation on multiple platforms like smart cards and mobile devices. Furthermore, the group deals with protocols for privacy-enhanced data collection from smart grids and electronic IDs and develops several authentication protocols for securing blockchain transactions.
Security in Industrial and Smart-Grid Networks
In many applications, classical cryptographic protocols are too complex for implementation. Therefore, we focus on the development of novel and more simple and computationally efficient protocols. These protocols ensure message confidentiality, authenticity, integrity, and privacy-enhancing features.
Hardware-Accelerated Cryptography
In some applications, the performance of traditional server platforms might not be sufficient. Therefore, we focus on HW implementation of cryptographic algorithms on Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) platforms. Currently, we implemented several encryption, signature, and key-agreement protocols, including post-quantum safe algorithms such as Dilithium and Kyber
