Expression of Interest
University of Sheffield - Expertise in MultiGIS ApplicationsThe Control and Instrumentation Group at the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (link: https://namrc.co.uk/capabilities/innovation/controls/), has already secured a CHIST-ERA grant (call 2022) as the international consortium coordinator for the TROCI (Towards Resilient Operation of Critical Infrastructure) project. Consequently, we possess substantial experience in application processes and are adept at preparing competitive proposals. We are well-prepared to contribute to a proposal for the MultiGIS call, with a focus on the following research interests (although not an exhaustive list) within our group:
- Nuclear Energy Systems (operational and decommissioned power plant)
- Renewable and other low-carbon energy systems
- Environmental monitoring, including Water Distribution Systems
- Manufacturing environment
- Robotics and Automation
- Wireless and 5G communication
We possess our own high-payload-capable drone, UGV, high-performance camera, ground-penetrating radar, etc. Our extensive experience encompasses control and instrumentation, communication and signal processing, machine learning, data gathering, and visualization. Additionally, we maintain strong working relationships with energy systems operators, manufacturing companies, environmental regulators, water distribution companies, etc., who could potentially support the project industrially. Therefore, whatever your project idea is in the MultiGIS theme, please feel free to contact us. We are enthusiastically available to help shape your idea into a winning bid, leveraging our prior successful experiences.
