Background Info:
Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU, http://www.hmu.gr), known until April 2019 as TEI of Crete (founded in 1983), is now one of the leading Universities in Greece. It has a faculty of 400 members and more than 15.000 undergraduate and graduate students in domains related to engineering, healthcare, agriculture, and economics. HMU focuses on applied R&D, technological innovation, and lifelong learning, and offers consultancy services of high quality.
The Artificial Intelligence and System Engineering Laboratory (AISE Lab, http://www.cs.teicrete.gr/aise) supports state-of-the-art R&D in crucial thematic areas with significant technological potential to sustain international collaboration, such as intelligent embedded/multicore systems. Key personnel of the AISE lab have more than 500 technical research publications in relevant areas in books, book chapters, prestigious scientific journals, and refereed international conference proceedings, drawing thousands of external citations. They have organized IEEE workshops, participated in program committees of international conferences, received gold award from corporate semiconductor industry and best paper distinctions. They have also participated in ERASMUS student training, summer schools on intelligent embedded systems, industrial training seminars, and competitive R&D activities supported by EU and national funds.
Research activities in AISE Lab focus on industrial-strength student training, technical consulting and applied state-of-the-art technological R&D concentrating on artificial intelligence and system engineering approaches to develop models, HW/SW platform prototypes, and complete solutions.
Interested in helping establish a proposal related to CyberPhysical Systems and AI, possibly related to Industry 4. Our competence includes participation in more than 20 European & National R&D projects, as well as close collaboration with industry.
