Civil efforts against disinformation, Coordinated Inauthentic Behavior (CIB), hate speech, and online incitement.

    Our Mission

Strengthen democracy and protect its people by acting against malicious online content and actors; Empowering and challenging the public, government, tech companies and the media to take action.

    Our Action Plan

By empowering the public to fight malicious activity online, and leveraging our research to lobby decision makers, tech companies, law enforcement and the media - we aim to holistically change the power balance towards the public interest

FakeReporter is a social venture established by researchers, activists, and OSINT experts. Using a combination of professional intelligence experts and an online crowdsourced research platform, FakeReporter leads civil efforts against disinformation, Coordinated Inauthentic Behavior (CIB), hate speech, and online incitement.

Combining crowdsourced research with our online system, allows us to better monitor the web for patterns of malicious activity. The reports made by public participation gives us a large and novel scope of online activity, including info from harder to reach groups and chats.
Thousands of human eyes that report to our platform, which helps us focus on repeating offenders and recurrent behaviors, allow us to prioritize the highest-impact activities. This in turn gives us the opportunity to find many examples of seemingly unconnected activity and recognize it as being coordinated inauthentic or malicious activity (videos, pictures, repeating language and connections between profiles or avatars)

Our technological tool, the FakeReporter platform, has been in constant development and has proven itself already as a key tool to uncover CIBs, FGIs and online generated violence.
