The CHIST-ERA Call 2020, to be published in December 2020 or beginning of January 2021, will target research in the following topics:

Advanced Brain-Computer Interfaces for Novel Interactions (BCI)

Towards Sustainable ICT (S-ICT)

The details of the research targeted in the call have been defined by the research community during the CHIST-ERA Conference 2020, an event that was open to all interested researchers.

The present Call 2020 Pre-announcement (see attached document below) gives an overview of the research themes that have emerged during the conference.

Researchers are encouraged to start discussing possible projects with prospective partners. The call will require that projects are submitted by international consortia with eligible and independent partners in at least three participating countries (including minimum two EU Member States and EU Associated Countries). Additional partners from other countries may be part of a consortium if they can secure their own funding.

Note that a one-step submission and evaluation process will be used.

Information webinars are planned on January 11, 2021, and February 22, 2021 to present the call to potential applicants (click on the corresponding date to register).

The call aims to foster good Open Science practices and approaches. An insight into the Open Science framework proposed by CHIST-ERA is provided in the course proposed by the OpenAIRE project and available here.
