As a consortium of research funding organisations supporting research in Information and Communication Technologies, CHIST-ERA is concerned by the modern challenges of Open Science and research assessment, which are key ingredients for a transparent and universal science (see CHIST-ERA Open Science Policy Statement).

Aware of the constant need to improve the evaluation of scientific outputs, especially given the increasing variety of the latter, we have decided to translate our past and present commitments in favour of an objective, transparent and fair research assessment by signing the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) and endorsing its recommendations.

In particular, CHIST-ERA will constantly refine its evaluation guidelines and monitor the functioning of its evaluation panels in order to ensure compliance with the best practices of research assessement, starting from the principles of the DORA declaration.
